Crassula A genus of around 200 succulent plants, most of them native to southern Africa, ranging from tiny mat-formers to the tree-like jade plant. Crassulas have thick, water-storing leaves, often in opposing pairs, and produce clusters of small star-shaped flowers. The jade plant is one of the most enduring houseplants, living for decades in a sunny window with sparse watering and a free-draining soil mix.
