Fittonia is a genus of low, creeping evergreen perennials native to the rainforests of South America, especially Peru. Their leaves are vividly veined in white, pink, or red against deep green, giving them the 'nerve plant' name. They love humidity and wilt dramatically when thirsty, then bounce back after watering.
