Syngonium A genus of about 30 climbing aroids native to the tropical forests of Central and South America, in the same family as philodendrons and monsteras. Syngonium podophyllum, the arrowhead plant, is the familiar houseplant, valued for its arrow-shaped leaves that change form as the vine matures and climbs. It is easygoing and forgiving, tolerant of low light and the occasional missed watering, and comes in many pink, cream, and variegated cultivars.
