Dypsis

Dypsis A genus of about 140 species of palms found almost entirely in Madagascar, with a few on nearby islands. The best known by far is Dypsis lutescens, the areca or golden cane palm, whose feathery, arching fronds and clustering yellow-tinged stems have made it one of the most popular indoor palms in the world. It likes bright, indirect light and evenly moist soil, and is often sold as an air-purifying plant.
